A BMW that needs work?!
Chuggin like an old diesel engine. Im confident its the ignition coils. Original plugs and coils after 157,000 miles! Poor BMW never had maintenance. Thought it was the fuel filter, but its not. Fuel PSI is 70 and doesnt drop, so I dont see it can be a bad fuel pump.
Very hard to start in the morning. I can unplug three spark plug coils and the engine sounds the same, garage smelled of unburnt gas (before unplugging coils). Then when it warms up I plug it back in and eventually starts running better... most of the time. Have new parts coming in soon. Hope to get it fixed.
Do have an engine light, but my code reader doesnt like BMW, yeah me either :)
Did the little secret menu thingy and theres a diagnostic menu, but I cant find anyway to activate it. Only useful stuff is the instrument cluster test, fuel level sensors, RPM, and coolant.

I use Carly for BMW to read codes on my bimmer. Pricey app but allows you to read codes, program functions and register batteries. Just need a wireless OBDII reader and a smart phone.
157k miles on plugs is insane. I doubt any maintenance was done on that thing. I have 97k miles on my X1 and it is still running like a champ. 3k left on the warranty.

Mine :) Trying to save the money for a new paint job and possibly a 5.3 V8 swap

I used Torque but didnt want to read anything. I downloaded Carly lite and will see how it does tomorrow.

I’ve been using Carly for the last three or four years. Worth it as dealerships charge $50-150 to register batteries.

Honestly when I had that gen S10 it broke more than anything I’ve owned. It was always little crap, the 4.3L is flawless. Sensor here, sensor there, heater core flush every winter or no heat, always something on that truck.

Only serious problem I had with mine is the clutch release bearing / slave cyl went, A/C compressor ate itself, ignition wires disintegrated after 20,000 miles, and so as the vacuum hoses. Its cheap to work on and when I have the spare cash I want to repaint and modify it, hopefully put a V8.
Interior plastic is fragile as glass though.

I liked the truck it was just cheaper for me to sell it and buy a car. I spent less a month on the car payment plus drastically better gas mileage than I was spending on monthly repairs. I miss my 88 2 door blazer though.
